Sitecore Fully Integrates e-Commerce into Experience Platform

This week Sitecore announced the addition of Sitecore Commerce (powered by Commerce Service, which it acquired in November 2013) into its Experience Platform. This means that Sitecore’s Experience Platform offers pretty much everything you need to create and carry out your customer experience strategies.
Most brands are recognizing that their e-commerce solutions can’t be managed separately from the rest of their digital experiences. There’s a lot of overlap, especially when it comes to the content that is used, to how personalization is applied and how customers and prospects want to interact with a brand.
It doesn’t seem to matter if its B2B commerce or B2C, it’s becoming (according to Gartner) more about individual customer experiences of which e-commerce is a large part. That explains why we see so many CXM vendors tightly integrating the e-commerce experience.
For Sitecore Commerce, this means:
- Integration with the Sitecore Experience Platform enabling marketers and merchandisers to integrate commerce capabilities into digital marketing campaigns, pull commerce related data into big data analysis, personalized the shopping experience based on customer profiles and other data, and deliver multi-channel experiences, so matter where the customer or prospect is, they can do the shopping they want.
- A centralized connected administration allows one place to develop and manage campaigns that are cross-channel, along with measuring performance.
According to Sitecore, it is also working with Microsoft Dynamics AX to create an omni-channel offering spanning both online and offline shopping experiences.
Sitecore also notes a quicker time to market and a platform that is flexible and enterprise grade. Sitecore Commerce will be generally available in September and will be demoed at its Symposium in Vegas September 8-10th.
