Oracle Acquires Compendium’s Content Marketing Platform
You knew these acquisitions were going to start happening. Robert Rose noted that we might see these types of deals as the content marketing platform market develops (Content Collaboration Tools: An Analysis of 13 Technology Solutions in a Disruptive Marketplace).
Oracle’s acquisition of Compendium (which Rose pointed out was the only full-featured content management platform with content marketing capabilities of the 13 solutions he reviewed), is a smart move. Compendium will join Oracle’s Customer Experience Solution, integrating with Eloqua’s Marketing Cloud.
It looks like the content marketing aspect is only one small element of the larger digital marketing strategy, but it’s a very important aspect. And it’s only growing more important every day. The key is to provide content people want to consume that will draw people to your organization. Compendium’s data-driven model for content marketing should be able to do just that.
Looking forward to seeing how Oracle integrates the content marketing capabilities into the Eloqua Marketing Cloud.
