Enterprise Photo Sharing Service Foko Adds Desktop Support

I first heard about Foko mid-last year. It’s a new enterprise photo sharing service that lets you easily share photos privately with other members of your organization. It’s a secure SaaS service, and as of today it’s also available for desktop and laptop users.

Why is that important? Well, say you have a diagram, a design or some other image on your machine that you want to show someone. Simply click on the camera icon in your Foko app and then share your file. Or maybe you want to look at photos shared with you on a larger screen.

Along with this new desktop sharing ability, Foko now offers the ability to share your photos with someone in your existing contacts list, whether that’s another employee, partner, or supplier. If someone comments on a photo Foko will warn them that people outside the company who have access to the photo as well will be able to see the comment – that might make you think twice about what you say.

Foko is available for both and Android. It’s a great example of the single purpose mobile apps that Mary Meeker indicated are becoming popular today.

One example of a company using Foko is Whole Foods. They have 1000 active users across twelve regions with a 70% adoption rate. Said Ryan Amirault, Senior Social Media Program Manager, Whole Foods Market.

What really appealed to us about Foko was the ease of use. There was no guidebook or training required. It’s a smart application that has enabled us to continue photo sharing without relying on email and do it in a quick and fun way for our employees.

Picture using this app if you are a digital marketer. Maybe you are at a retail store and see a great way to promote a similar product or service. Snap a photo and share your idea with your teammates. Or you are on the desktop surfing the net and you see your ad in a great place and you want your team to celebrate – snap a photo and share it. Likewise, maybe you have an ad on a site and you don’t like how it’s being laid out, or the content surrounding it – take photo and send it to the company placing it, they see immediately what your concerns are. Plenty of ways to use a service like Foko. How would you use it?

Share and Enjoy
